Intergalactic Shootout
This is my 2D Shooter Project. I made the following modifications:
- New texture for UI boxes
- Background added to title screen, as well as many other adjustments like a completed instructions screen and more level select buttons
- Added better colliders to the asteroid borders so that enemies and projectiles don't phase through them
- Added a new boss enemy:
- Has its own custom texture that combines the cannons on the single shooter and the diagonal shooter, as well as changes its color palette
- 50 HP
- 4x the size of a normal enemy
- Moves at half speed
- Shoots much faster
- Shoots in 3 directions (forward and two diagonal) with larger shots
- Has two spawners attached to the back of it to spawn projectile chasers near it
- Goals for completing a stage are now shown in the top-right of the UI
- Two new victory conditions:
- Destroy a certain number of asteroids
- Defeat a certain number of bosses
- Edited levels 1-2 and added two more levels:
- Level 1: Added more enemies
- Level 2: Added more enemies and changed the stage layout, making it more maze-like
- Level 3: Clear area with a cluster of asteroids in the middle, with enemy spawners near the border. The player must destroy all of the asteroids in the cluster.
- Boss Level: Small, mostly clear (has two walls for defense) area with a boss enemy. The player must defeat the boss enemy to win
- Objects like planets and space stations added to the background to make it more lively. These objects somewhat tell a story, as an alien space station is revealed behind the asteroid cluster in level three and it becomes bigger in the boss level, where it is being guarded by the boss and it spawns chasers from it.
