This is my 2D Platformer Project. I made the following modifications:

  • Backgrounds added for every level.
  • 2 New Power-ups:


    • Invincibility: The player turns blue and doesn't take damage from any sources.
    • Jump Boost: The player turns yellow and their jump has twice the height as before.
    • Both power-ups last 10 seconds and respawn after that time.
  • New levels up through Level 4
    • Level 1: Mostly unchanged from the tutorial, but I added score pickups, two more doors, and a few more challenges. I tried to make this level focus on teaching the idea of color-coded doors that is important to know for Level 4.
    • Level 2: A very horizontal stage that focuses on teaching the invincibility power-up. It includes multiple points where the player needs to go through acid with invincibility, including a free-fall though acid at the end.
    • Level 3: A mostly vertical stage focused on teaching the jump boost power-up. The player needs to jump up a narrow vertical cavern until they reach an opening, then they have to go back down another, ending with a difficult jump that requires double-jumping while falling.
    • Level 4: A boss stage that includes both power-ups. The boss is simply an upscaled, red version of a normal enemy, so the challenge here is focused on platforming. There are two paths to choose, one focused on each power-up. Once the player has completed a path, they get the key for the door on the opposite path, so they must go back and complete the second path. They can then fall on top of the giant boss enemy, killing it and obtaining the goal pickup.
